The Online Dog Trainer Review – By Doggy Dan – Solved ALL Of My Dogs Problems
Hi there! My name is Luis and I’ll be reviewing The Online Dog Trainer by Doggy Dan. I’m a single dog dad that works way too many hours and loves to spend most of my free time with my four legged fur baby named Zoe. Even if she is a little shit…
Literally! For some reason she loves to leave little homemade land mines all around the house. “Poop and pee”
I swear if reincarnation is a real thing Zoe had to be some sort of military tactician or trickster. At this point I might have to go with both. She somehow always leaves piles in the most random of locations, where you would never expect one to be. She will even go as far as to angle her smelly traps where you can’t even see them until it’s too late! A true master…
My feet are like heat seeking missiles and my target is warm dog poop and pee! Seriously, somehow I always end up stepping in the mess. Only to notice a little four legged freak of nature just staring at me like she just concord a country with her toxic waste! She’s lucky I love her dearly and want the best for her.
Zoe started a war, and it was my mission to take her down! That’s what I told her any way, but she just stared at me blankly like I was a crazy lunatic. Zoe and I had a mission, a mission to overcome her life of crime! I prayed for my feet not to land in any more poop mines on the way…
My Review: Here’s My Thoughts And Opinions On The Online Dog Trainer
I probably love dogs more than most people, I would rather spend my day with my dog or around dogs or other animals for that matter than people. But I’ll be the first to admit that I’m pretty useless when it comes to training them. Getting your puppy to learn a trick is one thing, but house-training is a whole other story… a wet and smelly story that is.
I didn’t know the first real thing about puppy potty training so I turned to the internet for answers. I found a few online dog training programs. The first one was called Secrets To Dog Training by Daniel Stevens it looked decent, and had some good reviews. My good friend Alex used the program to train his dog and was kind enough to collaborate with me to provide you a Secrets To Dog Training by Daniel Stevens Review
The second one was called Brain Training For Dogs by Adrienne Farricelli. This program was very nice and my second pick. But I felt that it didn’t focus primarily on what I needed for Zoe. If you are looking to primarily train your dog for obedience then it’s defiantly a winner. Another friend of mine used the program with great success, she was also so kind to write collaborate with me to provide you all with a Brain Training For Dogs by Adrienne Farricelli Review.
The Third and Final course I found was called Doggy Dans Online Dog Training it appeared to cover everything I was looking to fix with Zoe. It looked professional, informative, and personal it didn’t looked forced or fake.
When it comes to online programs I find myself always putting up a barrier. Since everyone and their brother seems to be a magical guru these days. I decided to dig a little deeper to see what I could find before buying Doggy Dans Online Dog Training,
Surprising enough I was able to find a lot of positive feedback on the program and about Doggy Dan, or Dan Abdelnoor which is his real name. I liked everything I read about him and what he stood for, ill cover everything I know about him a little later in the review.
The program was looking really good to me at this point, so what did I have to lose? I personally couldn’t think of anything. Hell I couldn’t get much lower than steeping in steamy dog poop and pee every single day… It wasn’t very enjoyable…
Desperate times called for desperate measures so I took the risk, and bought the course!
Why I Chose The Online Dog Trainer Over The Others
The main reason why I chose this product over the rest is because of morels that I and Doggy Dan both believe in. He and I both believe that dogs should not be subjected to fear training in any way shape or form. That includes both physical and mental fear training. It is not okay with me and I would never support someone that chooses to treat another living things in such a manner.
Doggy Dan teaches you how to become the pack leader without fear tactics. His training course is all about positivity, respect, and staying calm in any situation. His training style comes directly from wolves, yeah wolves… I thought it was odd at first too but after watching his video explanation it all made sense.
Dogs are direct decedents of wolves, and every wolf pack has an alpha or in other words a pack leader. The pack leader is respected by the entire pack, they follow his ever step and command. Not out of fear but because he has proven he is capable of protecting and leading them. Dans videos explain it way better than I could ever, so if you are interested head over and check out what he has to offer.
I might sound a little negative saying this but, dog training can be very frustrating and not very fun. Finding the time to train can be very difficult and quite frankly a painful.
For example, if you decided to enroll your dog at the local PetSmart for some dog training it might mean that you are stuck for ten, thirteen, even fifteen or more weeks. Bundle this with getting off from work only to have to pack up the dog and drag your tired butt to class.
Don’t get me wrong I love my dog dearly, and I want the best for her. But my life always seems to be full of flying monkey wrenches directed at my face. There is always some sort of issue going on that I have to deal with, and a fifteen-week dedication just wouldn’t be possible for me.
Between working a full time job, an hour commute, cooking and cleaning time becomes scarce quickly.
Doggy Dan’s Online Dog Training course appealed to me so much because of these issues. It was exactly what I needed to get in the quality training time with my dog. Because it comes in audio or e-book form. I was even able to watch the videos on my cell phone. Which came in super handy because I was able to get a jump start by watching the videos on my lunch break at work. Which saved me time once I got home.
In my honest opinion, this course is perfect for anyone who is always on the go and has little time to dedicate to a course where you have to physically be present for weeks on end.
Online dog training might seem scary at first but it’s actually refreshing because you have the ability to train in the comfort of your own home in a relaxing quite environment. Plus learning how to train your dog properly from an expert with the click of a button is an unreal feeling.
With that being said Doggy Dan and his online dog training program was my saving grace. I can’t express how happy I am with the results. I’m happy that I actually gave the course a chance.
Who Is the Program For?
The Online Dog Trainer is for anyone that is looking for the convenience of train their dog correctly in the comfort of their own home.
Does your dog pull you down the street when you go for a walk? Or maybe they are totally fine while walking until they see another dog or even worse a small fuzzy creature aka a squirrel! Zoe is of the terrier breed and loves to chase small furry creatures. It’s a bad and unwanted habit, which I was able to resolve with the program.
Or maybe your dog is a digger and you love to have flower beds around the house or maybe a garden. But your dog keeps destroying everything you have planted because they love to dig. Once again an undesirable trait that needs attention. I got lucky with Zoe thankfully she didn’t have the bad digging habit.
Lastly maybe you have a chewer on your hands, probably one of the worst traits to have next to peeing and pooping in the house. It’s normally a puppy phase that they will grow out of but, a lot of the times they never do, and if they do it takes way too long. By the time they do grow out of their chewing phase half of your stuff will be destroyed! I was able to nip Zoe’s chewing habits in the butt super early with the program thankfully.
These are just a few examples of what the program covers, if your dog has any of the following issues then this program is defiantly for you…
- Nips you or the kids
- Chews shoes, furniture, or things other than dog toys
- Jumps up at visitors
- Barks at people
- Barks at other animals
- Cries whenever you leave him
- Is destructive
- Doesn’t come when called
- Doesn’t listen to commands
- Isn’t potty trained
- Doesn’t know how to behave on a leash
- Isn’t socialized
- Is generally disobedient
Dog Aggression Problems
- Chasing Small Animals
- Dog-on-Dog Aggression
- Dog-on-Human Aggression
- Excessive Mouthing
- Random Acts Of Aggression
- Aggression Around the Front Door
- Excessive Dominance Towards Other Dogs
- Issues Around Specific People Such As the Mail Man
- Aggression Around Possessions
- Aggressive Barking
- Fear Biting Food Aggression
- Overprotective Tendencies Towards Family Members
- Growling and General Grumpiness when Approached
- Baring Teeth and Nipping
- Aggression Towards Children
- Lunging on Leash
How Long Did It Take To Potty Train My Dog?
It only took Zoe about 3 – 4 weeks to totally potty train after implementing the training. We both really enjoyed the bonding time and the progression phase. There were a lot of bumps in the road but we got through it. Zoe loved every second of her training, I don’t even think she realized she was in doggy boot camp ha-ha.
All dogs are created different, so keep that in mind. Just because Zoe completed her potty training within 3 – 4 weeks does not mean that your dog will do the same. Dogs are just like people some learn faster than others, some things come natural and some do not.
You could get really lucky with potty training your puppy and finish the course in 2 weeks were others might finish in 6 weeks. The end goal is all the same. It doesn’t matter how fast you get to the finish line. It just matters that you make it to the finish line and that you enjoy yourself along the way. Once you cross the finish line you will be extremely pleased with all the hard work you put forward.
I actually, let my sister use the program on her new puppy and she was able to fully potty train her in 3 weeks. Her puppy was only 11 weeks old when she completed her puppy potty training. Looking back I wish I found the program sooner. It would have saved my poor feet from being mutilated with toxic dog waste! Oh well none of that matters now, I’m just happy that Zoe has been cured of her habit! I’ll leave you with a quick tip! To get the best and fastest results you should always utilize a puppy potty training schedule!
How Long Are Training Sessions?
Training sessions were not bad at all, Going in I was really worried. Because I sort of have a short attention span just like Zoe…perfect match right? The training sessions allow you to move at your own pace, which was extremely helpful to both Zoe and I.
Throughout the week we would normally train for about 30 – 45 minutes, and on the weekend we would normally train twice a day for about 30 minutes each. It allowed us to get in a lot of training, while not over working ourselves. Dogs are just like children, they will not be able to focus for long periods of time. I guess I’m kind of like a kid, darn. Oh well!
Again keep in mind, that all dogs are different, you dog might be able to focus and train for an hour or longer. Other peoples dogs might land in the middle where they can train for a moderate amount of time, then you will have people that will have to limit their training in short bursts. Say around 15 – 20 minutes at a time. There is nothing wrong with that, the key is to stay consistent, and over time your dog will be able to go longer, and you will reach the finish line.
Fun Fact! Studies have been conducted to prove that a dog’s mental capacity is on the same level as a 2-3 year old child! I know some extremely smart 3 year olds!
Will I Need Special Equipment?
Nope you will not need anything special for the program. The only things you will need are things like treats, toys etc. Just the normal stuff that comes along with owning a dog.
Who Created Doggy Dans Online Dog Trainer & Why Trust Them?
I figured I would include this into the review since I wanted to know who I was buying from and ultimately supporting. The last thing I wanted to do was purchase a product from a scammer or worse a dog abuser. Someone that didn’t care about a dog’s well-being and was just in it for the money. I wanted to know exactly where my money was going so I asked myself the same question. “Who is Doggy Dan and why should I trust him” It wasn’t hard to find who Dan Abdelnoor was or what he was all about since he’s a pretty famous dog trainer in New Zealand.
I’ll give you a quick rundown about Dan Abdelnoor he is a professional certified dog trainer, behaviorist, and animal rights campaigner and author from New Zealand. He makes many TV appearances and has had become a TV personality in New Zealand. As of 2017 Dan owned 3 dogs and is happily married with multiple children.
Dan has become New Zealand’s top dog trainer, the Royal New Zealand SPCA has even given him their stamp of approval. If the SPCA is endorsing you and your program you know for a fact that it is no scam.
Fun fact: All of Dans Training videos were created from real live consultations, so the training you will be receiving will be 100% real! So in other words he won’t just be telling you how to fix an issue. He will actually be showing you how to fix issues first hand with dogs that have real issues in real time.
As you can tell, Dan has put in all the hard work to climb to the top, he probably wasn’t even aiming for the top. He was just doing what he does best, and what he loves to do. The people around him decided that he was worthy of such titles and praise. The SPCA would never support anyone who doesn’t have the best intentions.
To be honest all it took for me to support Dan was his morals, how he approached training and how well his program was put together. All the praise and celebrity status didn’t mean much to me, it was just icing on the cake per say. At the end of the day all the awards and attention he receives shows you how many people love and respect what he is doing for the dog community.
What’s Included With Doggy Dans Online Dog Trainer?
I was really surprised just how much material was offered with the program. At first glance it doesn’t seem like a whole lot. But once you actually get into the program it’s a whole other story entirely. Doggy Dan offers over 200 videos covering pretty much any problem you and your dog might be facing.
A 24 Hour A Day Forum
If for some odd reason you are dealing with an issue that is not covered in the training material then Dan has a forum for that exact reason. The forum is for members only, so that no one else will be able to spam or harass you in any way it cuts out all the noise from the outside world… If you have any questions or concerns you can ask them in the form, and another member will help you or a moderator of Dan’s. Even Dan himself will answer your questions, keep in mind that he has many other responsibilities. So he will not personally be answering each and every question from all users, regardless you will get your answer, it is an extremely powerful tool to have.
The Member’s area is extremely user-friendly and straightforward to navigate. Everything you need is clearly labeled so that anyone from any back ground will be able to utilize the course to its maximum. It doesn’t matter if you are a computer newbie or a seasoned pro will be able to follow along with no issues.

- Unique and Unexplained Obsessions
The list above is just a small sample of behavioral problems that the program covers, there are many more topics to suit pretty much any issue you might have. You will also notice that Doggy Dan features dogs that he doesn’t own in his training videos. Which is one of the main reasons why so many people trust him. Because he has gained the credibility by showing his skills on camera with real dogs with real issues.
Doggy Dan is a champion for dogs everywhere, he doesn’t use any devices or tools such as clickers, shock collars or prong collars. His dog training style is purely verbal. Which was a great bonus because I don’t like when people use those types of devices, it just turns me off. Quite frankly I don’t think making a dog scared of you is an ideal way to train. You should never get a dog if you plan on abusing it!
Dan taught me how to “think like a dog” which allowed me to really connect with my dog. Making it much easier for me to teach her commands.
Doggy Dans Online Dog Trainer Pros & Cons
There are a lot of benefits to using the program. Honestly I didn’t really anticipate just how many were going to be placed into the online dog training system.
- Supported by the SPCA of New Zealand
- Dan personally responds to questions in the forum
- Format is extremely user-friendly
- Excellent customer service
- Videos are long enough to teach but short enough to be interesting and not lose your attention
- Training methods are backed by animal behavioral science
- Each video also provides a written synopsis for those that prefer reading
- Doggy Dan is knowledgeable and likable
- Online forum is an excellent addition to the program
- Printable PDF forms to aid in training
- Project Moses offers a real life look at getting a puppy
- One of the only trainers to recognize and teach the importance of canine body language queues
- Moderate subscription price
Unfortunately we don’t live in a perfect world, with any Yin there is a Yang.
- Subscriptions aren’t for everyone
- You cannot download video files, so you will need access to the internet
- Videos aren’t in HD which bother some people
- You must be self-motived, you are on a subscription
These were the biggest complaints I found from people that used the course, personally none of which really apply to me other than the subscription model.
What I liked The Most About The Course
One of the biggest benefits is having the ability to access the course numerous ways. Being able to access the course from a smart phone is a life saver.
I absolutely loved the videos in the course. There were a little over 200 videos when I joined, and crazily enough there are more being added constantly. The online dog trainer definitely caters to all dog types and personalities. There is no doubt that you will find the right dog training video to fix any of your furry friend’s issues.
3. Time Management
Time is very valuable to me and I’m sure most of you reading. So having the ability to access the training from a cellphone in a moment’s notice really helps to utilize any spare down time you might have.
For example you have a doctor’s appointment, you already know that you are going to be waiting for ages. Bam there couldn’t be a better time to whip out your cellphone to catch up on some dog training videos or read them if that’s more your style…
In my opinion this style of training gives you so much more flexibility than attending a training class in person ever would. The course does an immaculate job explaining the theory behind the actual training which is a huge benefit when it comes to implementation.
4. Straight Forward
I don’t know about you but for me it’s a lot easier to train my dog when I understand why I’m having to do doing things a certain way.
I was super impressed that the SPCA actually endorsed Doggy Dan’s Online Dog Trainer which is not something you see every day. It takes a lot for the SPCA to acknowledge a dog trainer especially an online dog trainer. Doggy Dan is also highly endorsed in his local community and nationally, which isn’t something you will find true at your local dog trainer school. These endorsements gave me the confidence to truly believe in the methods Doggy Dan was teaching.
Being able to move along at your own pace is key. The program is a monthly subscription so you will be able to take your time. So if your dog is stuck on a certain issue you can spend as much time correcting it as you need before moving to something else.
7. Never Fall Behind
Just imagine if you were in a traditional dog class, your little Fido is a slow learner. You are on a fifteen week course and have to move along with the class even if Fido isn’t ready to move on. You are forced to move along with the rest of the class potentially confusing your little Fido even further. At this point you are just wasting your time and money. Since Fido fell so far behind and wasn’t able to catch back up to the rest of the class.
8. No Pressure
There is no reason for you and Fido to feel embarrassed in front of all the other dogs and gurus within the class who seem to be finding everything so damn easy. The online dog trainer will never leave you behind, because you will have full control from start to finish. At any point you get stuck there is a forum where you can submit your questions to be answered.
Or you could use it to show off how great Fido is doing with his training with cute pictures. Whatever floats our boat?
9. Monthly Subscription
Since the course is a monthly subscription it gives you a sense of obligation to actually put in the time and effort to train your dog.
10. Trial Offer
I like the simple fact that Doggy Dan provides you with a three day trial for only one dollar so that you can check out the system first hand. So pretty much you have no excuse not to try it out if you are on the fence. Heck you might have a genius dog that can learn everything in those free three days!
11. Money Back Guarantee
On a side note there is a 60-day money back guarantee, so at the end of the day you don’t really have anything to lose!
What I liked The Least Most About The Course
Honestly there isn’t much I can say I didn’t like. But like I said Yin always has a Yang!
1. Subscription Model
I’m not the biggest fan of subscription models. I’m the type of person that likes to just buy something straight out once and be done with it. I would definitely have paid for an all access lifetime member if it was an option.
2. In Person Connection
The only other draw back was the person to person contact that an in the flesh trainer provides. For example a question pops into your head you can immediately ask your trainer but with the online dog trainer you have to ask your question on the forum which isn’t nearly as fast.
What Others Say About Doggy Dan’s Program
Doggy Dan’s Online Dog Trainer Cost
A review wouldn’t be complete without telling you the price now would it!
The Doggy Dan Dog Trainer program is available for a $1 trial for 3 days and after that, you will be billed $37 per month for accessing his guides, videos, and community/forums. You will be billed nothing if you cancel your subscription within the first 3 days of your trial period.
I personally had no issue with the price, because it would have cost me a lot more money to attend a full 12+ week training course that I might not even like or even complete. Or worst of all I stick with and complete a training course only to have my dog learn absolutely nothing.
Plus there is no way out of a course you pay up front for. The one thing I do like about the subscription model is that I can purchase it for x amount of time fix my dogs issue then cancel. To fully train your dog you are looking at a few months that is if you have a really needy dog with a lot of problems. To me that is a very small price to pay for a fully trained dog that is trained correctly. Keep in mind that personal dog trainers cost hundreds even thousands of dollars, and quality isn’t their top priority. Just keep that in mind when you are searching for trainers.
Would I Recommend Doggy Dans Online Dog Trainer?
At the end of the day all I can do is share my story and provide you with my honest opinions and experiences I had with the program. My goal when I bought the online dog trainer was to get Zoe to stop peeing and pooping in the house. Which I’m ecstatic to say that we have solved that problem and haven’t had any relapses since.
Yes, I would absolutely recommend Doggy Dans Online Dog Trainer.
This program is perfect for anyone that has a high drive to actually train their dog properly. Plus if you are familiar with smart phones this program is extremely powerful and accessible.
On the flip side if you have a low drive to train your dog then the online dog trainer probably isn’t the best fit for you. Save your money and buy some extra cleaning supplies you’re going to need it.
At the end of the day it worked for me and that’s all that matters in my opinion.
If you are on the fence about the program, you have three choices. Either enroll at a local school or purchase an online course. Or live with an un-trained dog I suppose. “I’d rather not do that”
Both training styles have their advantages and disadvantages. You have to figure out what works best for you and your dog.
In my experience online dog training is the cheaper route to take plus being able to train at your own pace in the comfort of your home is priceless in my honest opinion.
Conclusion: Very Happy With Doggy Dans Online Dog Trainer
I can’t stress how happy Zoe and I were not to have had to deal with a 3 – 4 month commitment driving home after work to pick her up to then drive to doggy class and drive back home every week. So much time, stress, and money was saved.
If you choose to go with an online trainer then, I can re-assure you from experience that the Doggy Dan dog training program does work.
At the end of the day if you purchase a course you have to put in the effort, your dog will not learn if you aren’t willing to put in the time to learn them. You can’t just magically sit them in front of the videos and hope they learn.
I’m not saying this is the best online dog training course ever created but it is what worked for me. I would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for dog training.
Well, thanks for reading this Doggy Dan Online Dog Trainer Review. I hope it answered any questions you may have but if you do have any questions please do feel free to leave me a comment below…
